“Sustainable supply chains – Engines for legislation”: This was the title of the first conference of WOM as a new member of the UN Global Compact. On March 21, numerous representatives of the 353 German companies came together in Berlin to find out about the “Climate Protection Plan 2050,” the “CSR Directive Implementation Act,” as well as the “Business and Human Rights National Action Plan” of the German Federal Government.

WOM promotes social commitment of its employees

As a company, WOM has been supporting social projects for a long time and does the same for its employees and their volunteer activities. Since March 2017, WOM is going one step further. Employees are given up to two days paid leave per year for community involvement, such as handicapped care, children and young people, helping those in need and the elderly, integration of refugees or environmental protection.

CSR: Actively take Responsibility

WOM Joins UN Global Compact

WOM is aware of its responsibility as a company. The fact that we are a medium-sized company with not even 500 employees around the world does not stop us from orienting our strategies and activities according to the principles of a sustainable global economy. Rather, it is important to us to set an example and lead by example – even on a small scale. This is fully in line with our principles of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which have become an important part of our entrepreneurial thinking and acting.

Kickstart for a good Cause

When terms such as pin shot, jet or snake technology are soon being thrown around at WOM, it is not about the latest medical technology developments but simply the most important football shooting techniques. “Foosball” tables have arrived at the Ludwigsstadt and Berlin sites. But this is not all about having fun during breaks. The collected game money is doubled at the end of the month by the company and donated to the charity BigShoe e.V. from the Allgäu.
