Novanta’s Response to COVID-19 Pandemic

During the coronavirus outbreak, our focus is to keep our employees safe and reduce the spread of the virus in our communities, and to continue delivering products to customers that help them enhance people’s lives.

Our first priority is the health and safety of our employees. In accordance with World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines and local government regulations, we’ve implemented these measures in our worldwide facilities:

  • Work from home for non-production employees, equipped with the latest virtual technologies to remain connected and to support customers
  • Personal protection equipment for our production employees with regular monitoring of their health
  • Improved sanitizing procedures, hygienic measures, physical distancing measures, and deep decontamination protocols
  • A ‘no visitor’ policy
  • Non-essential travel suspended

Our mission critical products and technologies are embedded into medical devices and platforms, such as DNA sequencing, in-vitro diagnostic, robotic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and patient monitoring equipment. We remain committed to delivering products to our customers during this unprecedented situation as our technologies are used in medical equipment to characterize the coronavirus, and to diagnose and treat infected patients. In addition, several industrial manufacturers using our lasers and beam steering sub-systems are retooling their operations to develop parts for critical medical equipment and to produce personal protection equipment.

Our teams are proactively working with suppliers to keep them informed and to ensure business interruption contingency plans are being implemented. We continue to monitor and mitigate the risks associated with logistics and import/export issues. We believe our teams are demonstrating the resiliency and agility to ensure continuity of supply.

We are immensely proud of our employees’ ability to adapt to this pandemic. We appreciate our suppliers’ dedication, and we value the trust our customers place in us to deliver innovations that matter. When people are determined, they can overcome everything.
