To accompany an entire project, working independently but not left alone to deal with problems – this is the dream of every trainee. And actually the right of a trainee, that’s what we believe at WOM! For Rike, it was the preparation of the important medical technology fair Arab Health. Rike completed an apprenticeship as an office management assistant at the Berlin office and is now in her third year of training. “How fast time passes,” she laughs as we review the last few months.

Currently, 19 young people receive training at the production site in Ludwigsstadt in 8 different occupations. The 18-year-old Lukas Thiel from the Upper Franconian town of Steinberg tells of his freshly gained impressions of the start of his training as a production mechanic.

WOM Ludwigsstadt uses state-of-the-art production processes to manufacture equipment and accessories for medical technology and exports them all over the world. The department with the most employees is at the Oberfranken location – the certified cleanroom facility with more than 80 employees, in which plastic parts are manufactured, assembled, and packaged under very special conditions.

Sandy Paschold, who has been working for WOM in the cleanroom area for over 7 years now, reports on what exactly a cleanroom is and what it is like to work in such a facility.
