Trainees Help the Needy in the Ukraine

10. February, 2016 Apprenticeships, Sustainability

For more than 20 years, the volunteer organization JVV headed by Gregor Tischer & Uwe Gottwald has been providing humanitarian assistance to people in the Ukraine.

The training team of WOM Ludwigsstadt has repeatedly come out in support of this initiative to help this organization with tangible deeds. An internal corporate drive to collect well-preserved clothing, food, strollers and even mattresses and blankets was quite successful. After the relief goods were well packaged, the young trainees helped with the loading of the 40-ton truck. The vehicle started its journey to the Ukraine at once, where the much-needed goods are going to be distributed to the needy via the “MIR” and “House of Bread” charities.

WOM training supervisor Stefan Beetz was inspired by the action. “Social engagement is a high priority in our training section. It promotes teamwork and trainees learn to take on social responsibility,” states Beetz.
